SDVSA VOLVOs on Parade! |

Another SDVSA Chapter member managed to get into the act at the recent San Diego Volvo Grand Opening Celebration. Club members were on hand on Saturday to show off their cars, but unfortunately, few customers came to the event. On Sunday morning, Randy Slum went to the Grand Opening, thinking that the Club would also be there on the second day of the weekend-long event. A few salesmen expressed interest in the car, and (with a little coaxing) it was decided to display the car out in front of the showroom. S.D. Volvo was offering free unaccompanied test drives of their new S-80 and other new cars, which brought in a small but steady stream of lookers. Randy temporarily traded the 122 for the new S-80, and reports, "It's one fine car. I was really surprised at the power and smoothness of the engine. Try it some time, if you haven't driven a new Volvo lately. It was a real blast to drive. It made my Beemer feel like a slug!" |
